What the ROCK is a Health and Fitness Online Challenge Group?

Many people have the urge to join. Some are afraid. Others don’t think they have time. Several are unsure of what is involved so they steer clear. A few believe they have to be in good shape to start…

Let me assure you…All of those people mentioned above have at some point joined a challenge. And of those who participated NO ONE has ever said, “Man, I really regret doing that.” NO ONE has left feeling worse than when they started. NO ONE has walked away without learning something new about themselves.

When I finally convinced myself to join my first challenge group a year and a half ago, I wanted to know EVERYTHING up front. I am not someone who jumps into anything without first doing a background check. I need to see the agenda before the meeting.

SO…my post today is for those of you who are like me. I’m gonna give you what I can to put your mind at ease before you say, “Ok, I think I am ready to give this a try.” I tell you what, it could be life changing. It has been for many.

What is a challenge group? 
There are a few elements to it. At the heart of it, it is a group who agrees to commit to getting into better shape and holding one another accountable through a 30-day challenge.

Our challenge group will workout (in your own home with the aid of a Beachbody program), drink Shakeology, and learn and implement principles of clean eating (being mindful of healthy choices and habits in your daily nutrition).

The group “meets” in a CLOSED online forum. No one other than group members see your posts. The group atmosphere is great for accountability and keeping one another on track. Most people do not know many–if any–others in the group. Some great connections and friendships can occur through the daily support and habit formation the group builds.

Every day throughout the challenge we will post in the group a daily mind-set tip, nutrition and/or fitness post. We will address emotional eating, eating out at restaurants, going on vacation, temptations, cheat meals, food swaps, healthy food advice on the go and more!

Do I have to be fit? 
No. You can be. We have some really fit people in challenge groups. And we have people who are starting their fitness journeys. And we have everything in between. Some want to lose a lot of weight; others just want to strengthen and tone.

What is the time commitment?
For most programs, 30 minutes a day – 5 days a week. Add in a little meal planning and prep on Sunday night…that’s all. Don’t underestimate how life-changing this simple addition could be.

What workout programs are available?
We don’t want to specify a certain Beachbody program simply because we all may be looking for something a little different based on individual health and fitness goals and preferences. As coaches, we offer suggestions and help pick a program right for you. We know how hard it is to find time for yourself in the craziness of day to day living. When does it start?
We start our challenge groups on the 1st Monday of every month. The first week is considered PREP week. We talk measurements, meal planning and prep, nutrition guide walk-throughs and workout tips. Workouts and meal planning begin the following Monday.
