Run Fast Eat Slow Cookbook

I just purchased this cookbook and can’t wait to dive in!

Authors Shalane Flanagan (Olympic marathon runner who just placed 6th in Rio!) and Elyse Kopecky (elite runner and culinary chef) teamed up  to write Run Fast Eat Slow. I first learned about this book after listening to a podcast featuring the authors. I felt their perspective on eating healthy fell right in line with our ‪Eat The Chocolate belief system, “Finally a cookbook for runners that shows fat is essential for flavor and performance and that counting calories, obsessing over protein, and restrictive dieting does more harm than good.” They even mentioned the benefits of chocolate!

I also fell in love with their motivation behind creating this book…

“What if we wrote a book for athletes unlike any of the “light and lean” running cookbooks out there. Our book would celebrate all whole foods instead of obsessing over carbs verses protein or the latest diet trend? We would show runners everywhere that by indulging—yes, indulging—in real food, they will not only train and perform better, but also improve their overall health, all while enjoying what they eat more than ever before.”  Excerpt From: Shalane Flanagan and Elyse Kopecky. “Run Fast. Eat Slow.”

Here are a few recipes I am looking forward to taste testing from the book:
