Replace that evening bowl of ice cream with this delicious baked cinnamon apple dessert! It's better for you, lower in calories, yet still sweet enough to satisfy! You can play around with the toppings, but pecans and dark chocolate chips are my favorite!

Ingredients
  • 1 apple halved or sliced into pieces (remove core)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp raisins
  • 1 Tbsp nuts Pecans, walnuts cashews
  • 1 tsp dark chocolate chips
  • granola optional
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven (I prefer using a toaster oven for this snack) to 375 degrees.
  2. Cut and core apple.
  3. Grab a piece of aluminum foil. Place apple in center of foil.
  4. Add toppings: Sprinkle with cinnamon, raisins and pecans (Wait to add chocolate chips until after apple is baked).

  5. Wrap aluminum foil tightly around apple and place in the oven. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.

  6. Open foil and check apple tenderness. Depending on preference, you may want to bake for an additional 5-10 minutes.

  7. Remove apple from foil and place in a serving bowl. Add chocolate chips on top to melt. Granola (optional) can be added at this time as well. Enjoy!
