Recipe Notes

If your kids are like mine they are STAAAAARVING when they get home from school. After a hand washing (and a reminder to use SOAP!) they immediately head to the kitchen island for snacks. I have learned if I give them healthy options - they will eat them! Pictured is what our counter looks like at 3:45 on school days. My only rule is that they pick at least one piece of fruit! The kids fill a bowl, chill for a bit while we talk about they day, and then get to homework.

Here are some of their favorite after school snack options:

-blueberries
-strawberries
-cantaloupe
-grapes
-pineapple
-cutie oranges
-apples with peanut butter or yogurt dip
-whole wheat bagels toasted with cream cheese and sprinkled cinnamon
-Toastido or Triscuit crackers with hummus
-cheesesticks
-bowl of cereal (frosted mini-wheats or honey wheat puffs)
-peanuts, almonds, raisins
-peanut butter banana tortilla roll-up
-pretzels
-greek yogurt with KIND granola
-carrots and dip
-ants on a log (celery, PB, raisins)
-homemade fruit popsicles
