Insanity Max 30 Program Launch: December 2nd!

by | Nov 25, 2014 | 0 comments

Dan and I are big fans of Shaun T’s workout programs. Shaun T is the creator of Hip Hop Abs, Rockin Body, Insanity, Insanity the Asylum, T25 and now Insanity Max30.  We started with T25 about a year ago and worked out to Insanity this past summer. Awesome programs that push you hard to give you great results. So…when we heard of the new program launch coming out this winter we got excited. And I can finally say – it’s here!!!Insanity Max30 is about to launch next week on December 2nd! I wanted to write and share some information on this new program and what you can expect!

Insanity Max 30 is Shaun T’s latest 60 Day program with 150 new moves to help you dig a little deeper and get your body in the very best shape of your life. It combines cardio and strength moves without the need for any equipment.  The workouts are all 30 minutes each with a 10 minute ab workout.  The idea of this program is not to make it through the entire 30 minutes, but to “MAX OUT”: Go as hard as you can until failure….until you have to take a break. You track your daily Max Out time and aim to increase your time with each workout.

Who is it for?
-T25 or Insanity graduates ready for a harder challenge.
-Anyone who has been exercising consistently (3-5 days a week)
-People who have a a base level of fitness
– Those who completed the 21 Day Fix, or Piyo, any P90X program
-Those who want to lose weight and build muscle
-Runners and athletes (former or even washed up athletes! HA!)
-This is not a beginner program. I would consider it intermediate to advanced. There is a modifier.

What are the workouts like?

The workouts in Month 1 are a combination of cardio and tabata style strength workouts (ie: 20 seconds on; 10 seconds off). There is not a fit test like Insanity simply because every single workout is like a fit test. Your goal is to beat your time from the day before!
Cardio Challenge:  1st workout – used as your guide and fit test per se.  4 1/2 minute cardio intervals with 30 second rest periods.
Sweat Intervals:  More cardio type intervals
Tabata Power:  Plyometrics, and comes down to where you are not jumping and is meant to generate power in your core. Great ab work!
Friday Fight:  I hear it’s TOUGH. 5 day a week program!
Saturday Pulse workout is optional. It’s more of a pulse, balance, modifier type workout focusing on core and form.
In Month 2 the intensity picks up. The intervals are longer (45 seconds) and rest time is 15 seconds – challenging your endurance and strength. 30 minute workouts continue.
This month you Max out cardio & Sweat with power moves – 5 1/2 minutes and then break.
Max out Strength and Max Out Power tabata style.
45 seconds on with 15 second off = total of 6 rounds.
Friday Fight Round 2:  Rumor has it – it’s insane!

Meal Plan:  Flexible eating and portion control.Portion control is amazing.  It’s the most important thing you can do to get even better results.  If you manage your portions you can eat again sooner! The Meal plan is crucial to your progress!  It’s a great meal plan that is super easy to follow and effective and efficient!

What is different about this program?
You work to max out in one move – you get a little break -and then you move to max out in a new move using different muscle groups. The intervals are also a little different: 3 moves for 30 seconds each in 3 rounds.  You do a little more a little longer and a little harder. Mental toughness comes into play.
Is there a modifier?
Yes- there is a modifier track option so that you can see the modifier all the time during the workout which makes it easier to follow.
What does it mean to “Max Out” ?  To Max Out means to stop or fail for the first time in the workout. It’s not about getting through the 30 minutes.  It’s about going as hard as you can for as long as you can, until you MAX OUT.  You will write down the time it took you to max out on a particular move, take a break, and then jump back into the workout.  If you stay committed and push to your max you will add more time each week with the workouts!MAXING OUT IS A GOOD THING!!!
